  •  Harold, OpenCobol is a FOSS cobol to c compiler. It passes most of the critical tests and implements a number of extensions from other compilers. So in many ways its the same, and if you use only strict cobol from the standard it is identical to the other compilers. Add 1 to cobol (the add1 team) are a group that favor Cobol and are adding all sorts of additions, libraries, Cobol code and so on to the Cobol and especially the OpenCobol ecosystem. Hope that helps and thanks for joinin'.

  •  Harold, Glad to have you aboard! The more cobolers the better. Are you from one of the add1 teams or OpenCobol or someplace else? We're welcoming all Cobolers no matter where they come from, I just like to know which of our efforts are spurring the most interest. Also check out the Poll, we're trying to find a time for meeting times that will suit everyone.
